Matthews Ntlele was born and raised in South Africa and grew up during Apartheid, one of the country’s most troubled times. Matthews discovered a passion for music and a love for the church at an early age. He regularly sat in while a local choir rehearsed and through it his own special talent was unearthed. Despite humble beginnings, Matthews’s story continues to provide evidence of the grace and providence of God.

Matthews attended Hillsong International Leadership College in Sydney, Australia. It was there he interned under Rueben Morgan and began developing his craft as a skilled worship leader.
